VISION: Our vision for the poor communities we serve is that low-cost healthcare services are available to them, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Persons with Disabilities are reasonably achieved , and they live a better life with dignity.
VALUES: Emeron Foundation values integrity, honesty, excellence, dependability, accountability, transparency and dedication to duty. Actions must be just and ethical.
Our Focus on Persons with Disabilities: We focus so much on Persons with Disabilities because they are more likely to die earlier, have poorer health conditions and are more limited in their Activities of Daily Living than the public. Also they need to participate in the civil, political, social and cultural life of the society with equal opportunities as the public.

Despite the fact that Nigeria has one of the fastest growing populations in the world, health indicators in Nigeria are one of the worst, even in Africa. Cooperation and collaboration are needed for improving health conditions in Nigeria. Persons with Disabilities are at the center of the United Nations 2030 Agenda which aims at eradicating poverty in all its forms. This is because more than 80% of persons with disabilities live in poverty. And there is a diversity of persons with disabilities in Nigeria, majority of them having physical disabilities or mobility problems. Sadly, in Nigeria Persons with disabilities that involve physical impairment are in most cases automatically bed-ridden, because they do not have access to mobility aids that could help them in accomplishing their activities of daily living. And the governments (Federal and States) are of no help. These Activities of Daily Living (ADL) include using the toilet, bathing, showering, getting in and out of bed or a chair; or transferring from one position to another. Emeron Foundation works to reduce suffering . Our mission is to help solve the problems of the poorest amongst us, by increasing their access to improved and quality health. There is a staggering inequality, which is why Nigeria ranks 161 out of 189 countries on the Human Development Index (HDI). But we can enable Persons with Disabilities live with dignity. With cooperation and collaboration we can provide them with mobility aids such as: folding walkers, rollator walkers, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, canes, walking sticks, crutches, orthopaedic shoes, walker boots, braces, commode chairs, shower chairs/benches, etc.
Where we work: We serve the rural and poor communities in Nigeria, particularly, Imo State. But we acquire most of what we use to help the communities fron United States of America. Nigeria has one of the highest rates of death from preventable diseases including maternal and child deaths, in the world. Our Impact: We have made such impact that we frequently receive phone calls from all over Imo State, asking for when we would be able to donate mobility aids to them.
MAP OF NIGERIA
Origin of Emeron Foundation: Dr. Emmanuel Nkwogu, as a physician had been providing low-cost/affordable healthcare services to the rural/poor communities of Ogbaku and its environs in Imo State of Nigeria in the 1980s-90s. In line with that, he provided healthcare services free-of-charge to indigent patients. He always accepted patients without considering their ability to pay. This was a written-down policy. When he came to the United States of America and saw the opportunities that abound, he knew that he could help his poor communities in Nigeria more. So, he incorporated the Emeron Foundation as a Not-for-profit healthcare organization, both in the USA and Nigeria, to help him to continue with his humanitarian services. EMERON is an acronym for Emmanuel Eronini Obisike Nkwogu. He incorporated Emeron Foundation in the United States of America as Emeron Foundation USA Inc.
